HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICE FAQS

How long does the service take? 

We allocate 1 hour per service, hair, and makeup 2 hours. When finished, the Prive Artist will pack up and tidy away everything, ensuring the space is left clean and tidy for you.

How does Privé Mobile Hair & Makeup Service work?

1. Select your preferred Privé Artist and book via our easy-to-use online booking system, or call/send an enquiry and one of our consultants will guide you through the booking process.

2. Your Privé Artist will arrive at your chosen location fully equipped with everything needed for your appointment. After a thorough consultation, your professional transformation will begin.

3. Your Privé Artist will pack up, clean and take everything with them to leave you and your group to attend your special occasion as the most confident version of yourselves.

Do I need to provide anything for the service?

We have it all covered and will bring everything needed for your hair and makeup service! We simply require a space of your preference where we can set up with access to a power point. Normally the kitchen area works best.

What products do Privé Artists use?

The Privé team only use top-end professional brands such as Dior, Armani, Charlotte-Tilbury, Mac, and Nars.

What is an Artist Consultation?

A consultation is necessary before your appointment to ensure we have the right stylist for your look. The head stylist will contact you to discuss your hair and makeup needs and set up an appointment for you.

Is a Trial Necessary & How Does It Work?

Trials for your hair and makeup are crucial to getting the look you want on your wedding day or special event. Here you’ll meet your artists, define your style, and plan how you’ll look on your big day. Don’t hesitate to share your photo ideas with your stylist so they can make your vision a reality! Have no idea what you want? That’s fine too! You can count on our talented team to help you every step of the way!

Is my hair short, medium, or long?

We define hair length as follows: Short Hair (above the shoulders), Medium (on the shoulders), Long (to the bra line), and very long (below the bra line).

What Services Does Privé Offer?

Privé offers hair styling but not ‘hairdressing,’ which excludes cutting, colouring, and perms. We recommend ‘dry styling’ for better, longer-lasting results, achieved by using heat tools on dry hair. We also offer makeup looks from natural to full glam but do not provide partial services like ‘Just eye makeup.’ We do not offer manicures, facials, threading, or brow tinting.

Do I wash my hair before they arrive? 

Hair must be dry for the appointment and washed the day before unless clearly stated that you would like a blow-dry only. 

What can expect from a Privé service?

Ultimate convenience. The Prive stylist can come to you at any time of day or early hours to ensure you are ready for their occasions. The stylist brings everything with them, and you are not required to provide anything (makeup, tools, light ring, etc). The stylist will advise you on where is best to set up for the service. Natural light is preferred, and power points are essential. The Privé stylist will have a thorough 1-on-1 consultation with you to discuss the desired look, ensuring we achieve the perfect result.

Do you offer touch-up services during the event?

Yes, we offer touch-up services at an additional cost. If you’d like our artist to stay on-site for touch-ups throughout your event, please let us know during the booking process.

What if I change my mind about lashes or the style I want?

Your stylist will sit down with you for a thorough 1-on-1 consultation when they arrive to discuss your look and help guide you to the perfect style for your event. If you have not booked for an ‘up-style or Lashes’ these can be added on the day and the extra amount paid to your stylist.

BOOKING & SCHEDULING FAQS

Will you come to any location?

Yes, we will come to you, we travel throughout VIC, NSW, SA, WA & QLD.

How much is the travel fee?

There is a travel fee of $50 + $1 per km outside of the CBD you’re closest to.

Can I schedule my service for any time day or night?

We operate 365 days a year to deliver a 5-star hair and makeup experience from anywhere. If you wish to schedule one of our expert Artists before 7 am or after 7 pm we require a $50 ‘after hours’ fee for our Artist.

Does Privé offer AfterPay?

Yes, all online bookings are available with AfterPay.

How much is the deposit?

A 30% deposit is required to secure your Privé service. Payment is via Credit or Debit Card only with a 2% surcharge.

How can I make a booking?

You can book your Privé service in 3 ways:

1. Via the ‘book now’ button on our website which is fully automated.

2. Via the enquiry form on our website

3. Over the phone with one of the Privé consultants.

What if my Artist is unable to make the appointment?

Privé is proud to hold a 100% attendance rate for every appointment scheduled since we started in 2016. In the case that your Privé Artist is unable to attend for any reason, Privé offers full refunds for services that cannot be attended or with your permission, will arrange a replacement of your Privé Artist.

GROUP BOOKING FAQS

Can Privé accommodate large bridal parties or group bookings?

Yes, we can accommodate large bridal parties or group bookings. Please contact us in advance so we can plan and allocate enough time and artists for your event. We love celebrating with big groups! For larger bookings, we suggest reaching out to us as early as possible to ensure we can provide the best experience for everyone.

How many Stylists will I need for a group booking

While we can customise each booking based on the unique needs of each client, we recommend 1 Artist per 2 Guests. Please email us at enquiries@privehairaustralia.com for a complimentary consultation.

What if I have a specific theme or style for my event?

If you have a particular theme or style in mind for your event, let us know during the consultation. Our artists are skilled in various styles, including vintage, boho, modern, and more, and we’ll tailor the look to match your preferences. We love embracing unique themes and styles! Share your ideas with us, and we’ll work together to create a stunning hair and makeup look that complements your event perfectly.

Who is Privé’s Founder?    

Privé was founded in 2018 by Jade Crosland and began with humble beginnings. The small team offered mobile services with a mission to provide salon-quality results to clients in the comfort of their own homes. Crosland’s vision for Privé aimed to remove the stigma of mobile services. Typically viewed as a less professional option, Privé sought to establish a team of senior stylists to deliver salon-quality results while simultaneously elevating the status of mobile hairdressing.

COVID-19 SAFETY

What if my appointment has to be cancelled/rescheduled due to COVID restrictions?

Privé offers full refunds for services that cannot be attended to due to Covid-19 or with your permission, will arrange a replacement of your Privé Artist. If you or anyone in your group is unable to attend your service due to Covid-19 you will be issued a credit which is valid for 12 months.
